Naming Ceremony of the 100th Bulk Carrier Hull!

On October 26, SUMEC Marine Co., Ltd., affiliated to SUMEC Group Corporation (hereinafter referred to as SUMEC), held the naming ceremony for the 100th CROWN 63 Bulk Carrier Hull. The ceremony was attended by Ms. Cai Liang, the Namer, Xiong Jianfeng, Executive Director of the Shipping Division, China Development Bank Leasing, Chen Biao, Vice President of Bureau Veritas in Greater China, Yang Yongqing, SUMEC's Party Committee Secretary and Chairman, He Jun, Chairman of SUMEC Marine Co., Ltd., and other relevant heads of China Development Bank Leasing, Bureau Veritas and SUMEC Marine Co., Ltd. 

Yang Yongqing thanked China Development Bank Leasing for its trust and support to SUMEC. He stated that SUMEC, as an international and diversified enterprise with a large market scale and brand influence in the field of industrial chain expansion and supply chain, has been actively developing shipbuilding and shipping business sectors for a long time, promoting the innovation and upgrading of Crown hull. It has embarked on an enterprising road with practical actions, winning customer trust and market recognition. In the future, SUMEC will continue to uphold the core values of customer first, deepen pragmatic cooperation, promote steady development of the shipping business, and actively make new contributions to China’s strategy of strengthening maritime power. 

The Namer, Ms. Cai Liang, named this new hull "CL XIANGTAN", wishing it smooth sailing on every voyage. 

Xiong Jianfeng stated the hope that SUMEC and China Development Bank Leasing further leverage their advantages and strengthen cooperation in the future based on the domestically and internationally well-known Crown hull of SUMEC Marine Co., Ltd. 

He Jun thanked China Development Bank Leasing for its support to SUMEC Marine Co., Ltd., and expressed his hope to carry out more in-depth cooperation with China Development Bank Leasing.

Crown 63 bulk carrier hull (Version 3.0) built for China Development Bank Leasing is the 100th Crown 63 hull delivered by SUMEC Marine Co., Ltd. The hull, with independent intellectual property rights, can meet the IMO Tier III requirements and EEDI III emission criterion. It is the third ship in the world with BV SMART EnE1 character of classification, and leads the industry in terms of economic efficiency, energy saving, cargo suitability, safety and environmental protection. 

Since 2018, SUMEC Marine Co., Ltd. and China Development Bank Leasing have continuously deepened cooperation in shipping and shipbuilding businesses, with 40 new ships jointly built and operated, 31 of which are Crown 63 hulls.
