The air blower machine, a kind of machinery that compresses and conveys gas through the interaction between rotating blades and gas, plays a crucial role in the industrial field. According to the working principle, it is mainly divided into two types: positive displacement type and velocity type. Common types include Roots air blower machine, screw air blower machine, and centrifugal air blower machine. Among them, centrifugal air blower machines further include air-suspension centrifugal air blower machines and magnetic-suspension centrifugal air blower machines. These different types of air blower machines, with their unique performance features, are widely applied in numerous industries such as sewage treatment, metallurgy, chemical engineering, aquaculture, pneumatic conveying, and mine flotation.

In terms of structure, taking the centrifugal air blower machine as an example, it mainly consists of an electric motor, an air filter, the air blower machine body, an air chamber, a base (which also serves as an oil tank), and an oil drip nozzle. The internal volute, collector, and impeller are key components. The collector guides the gas to the impeller. The connection mode of the impeller structure includes welding and riveting. According to the outlet installation angle, it can be divided into radial, forward, and backward types. The complex flow conditions inside the impeller directly determine the aerodynamic performance and efficiency of the whole stage and even the whole machine. The volute is responsible for collecting the gas discharged from the impeller and converting part of the kinetic energy into static pressure energy before guiding the gas out. The Roots air blower machine is mainly composed of many parts such as the drive-end wall plate, the casing, and the gear-side wall plate. Its shape is horizontal, and there are two transmission methods: belt pulley transmission and coupling transmission. The air inlet and outlet adopt the mode of upper inlet and lower outlet, and the shielding line of the air inlet and outlet of the casing and the straight line at the top of the impeller form a triangular air inlet and outlet. The main components of the magnetic-suspension centrifugal air blower machine include a high-efficiency centrifugal impeller, a magnetic-suspension bearing, a synchronous permanent magnet motor, and a dedicated frequency converter. The impeller is designed with a three-dimensional flow design and made of high-strength aluminum alloy material.
In recent years, the overall output of China's air blower machine industry has shown an upward trend. Products such as Roots air blower machines have started to be exported to many countries and regions. Among them, Roots air blower machines account for about 93% of the market share, and centrifugal air blower machines account for 7%. According to data from the Compressor Network, the domestic market size of air blower machines was approximately 2.7 billion yuan in 2019, and it is expected to grow at a rate of 5%-7% in the next three years. In terms of exports, Chinese air blower machines have gradually emerged in the international market with their cost-effectiveness. Especially under the promotion of the Belt and Road Initiative, the export volume has been steadily increasing. Developing countries along the routes, such as India and Vietnam, due to their high demand in the manufacturing industry, have a continuous growth in the demand for industrial equipment like air blower machines, becoming important export markets for Chinese air blower machines.
From the perspective of technological development, with the increasing global emphasis on environmental protection and energy conservation, high-energy-efficiency air blower machine products have become the focus of future development. Some domestic enterprises have gradually broken the monopoly of foreign manufacturers in the high-end air blower machine market by introducing core technologies and carrying out innovations, and independently developing intelligent units. For example, the magnetic-suspension air blower machine independently developed by Yisheng (Tianjin) Technology Co., Ltd. has been successfully exported to the United States, marking that China has reached the international leading level in this high-end field. In terms of low noise, aiming at the main aerodynamic noise problem of air blower machines, the industry has been continuously conducting in-depth research on the shape design of the casing air outlets, and using technologies such as backflow noise elimination and resonance noise elimination to reduce noise. In the field of intelligence, PLC, single-chip microcomputers, or PC computers are used to effectively control the operating parameters of the air blower machine, adjust them in real-time according to the working conditions to meet the requirements of the production process. At the same time, parameters such as pressure, temperature, and vibration are monitored to ensure the safe operation of the blower.
Although China's air blower machine industry has achieved certain results in exports, it also faces many challenges. Most small and medium-sized air blower machine enterprises are still concentrated in the field of low-value-added products, with low technical levels and serious repeated investments, resulting in fierce competition in the low-end market and affecting the overall profitability of the industry. In the international market, although Chinese products have a price advantage, in terms of the core technologies and brand influence of high-end products, there is still a gap compared with enterprises in developed countries in Europe and America. However, with the vigorous development of the domestic new energy industry and the continuous strengthening of environmental protection efforts, the application demand for air blower machines in the new energy industry and the environmental protection industry continues to rise. This provides an opportunity for Chinese air blower machine enterprises to enhance their technological content, improve product quality, and enter the high-end market. Leading enterprises are expected to continuously increase their market share by virtue of their technological advantages, and some enterprises with weaker strength will gradually be eliminated, and the whole industry will develop in a more healthy and high-end direction.
