Global numbers show the market is moving up. The conveyor system market alone was worth $12.6 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach $13.1 billion in 2026, growing at about 5 percent annually . Belt conveyor systems accounted for a significant share, valued at $4.84 billion in 2025 and expected to hit $5.56 billion by 2027 .

Asia-Pacific leads the market. The region holds the largest share of global conveyor system demand, driven by rapid industrialization, large-scale infrastructure projects, and the shift from manual labor to automated systems . China is a key player. Data from the General Administration of Customs shows that China's exports of bucket-type continuous-action elevators and conveyors held steady in early 2026, with monthly figures consistently above 100 million yuan .

What is pushing the market forward? Several factors.

E-commerce is a major driver. Online sales keep climbing. The warehouse conveying equipment market is experiencing robust expansion, underpinned by the structural growth of e-commerce logistics . Distribution centers need efficient automated systems to handle growing order volumes.

Mining and bulk handling remain core applications. In mining, conveyor systems are used for continuous bulk material transport. Around 41 percent of mining sites use conveyor systems to reduce haulage costs and improve safety . Manufacturing facilities also rely on conveyors for assembly line efficiency and internal logistics. Nearly 38 percent of manufacturers integrate belt conveyors to maintain steady production flow .

Food processing is another growing segment. Strict hygiene standards are pushing adoption of advanced conveyor systems . Food production applications accounted for about 20 percent of the belt conveyor market in 2026, with systems designed for easy cleaning and consistent product movement .

Chinese manufacturers are expanding globally. At a heavy equipment plant in Shangrao, Jiangxi, a 100-meter-long smart conveying system was being tested for shipment to a South American mining site . The plant produces SCD1800 conveyors with a maximum capacity of 1,500 tons per hour. The company also exports to Europe, with a technical team recently helping upgrade an old production line in France .

Another Chinese company, Simaider Electrical Machinery, reported in August 2026 that it has over 20 million yuan in orders waiting for delivery. Overseas orders account for a quarter of the total, with production scheduled through December. The company produces scraper conveyors, screw conveyors, and bucket elevators for power, chemical, construction, and mining sectors .

Technology trends are reshaping the sector. High-speed smart conveyance systems are gaining traction. Systems with independent carrier control and precision positioning are growing rapidly in electronics, medical, and automotive applications . In the U.S., an estimated 20 percent of manufacturers are likely to deploy physical AI to mitigate labor shortages .

Trade policies are also affecting the market. Tariffs on critical intermediates have added about 0.5 percentage points to core inflation in the U.S., squeezing margins of downstream manufacturers . Mexico is benefiting from nearshoring trends, with US-Mexico trade projected to grow by $315 billion by the end of the decade .

For buyers and manufacturers, the picture is clear. Conveying equipment is becoming more automated and more connected. Companies that invest in smart systems will have an edge in the years ahead.
