Two Crowns! Named on the same day!

On August 13, SUMEC Marine Co., Ltd. of SUMEC Group Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Sumec) held a naming ceremony for two Crown 63 3.0 bulk carriers built for U-Ming Marine. Chairman Xu Xudong of TAIWAN FAR EAST INT'L GROUP LIMITED, Vice Chairman Xu Guoan and General Manager Wang Shuji of U-Ming Marine, Vice Chairman Wei Hainuo of BNP Paribas (China)Ltd., Party Group Member Luo Xueming of Yangzhou Municipal Government, Senior Vice President of Bureau Veritas Asia Pacific and President of China Alex Gregg-Smith, Sumec Party Committee Secretary and Chairman Yang Yongqing, Chairman of SUMEC Marine Co., Ltd. He Jun and other leaders and guests attended the ceremony.

In his speech, Yang Yongqing expressed his gratitude to U-Ming Marine Transport and Bureau Veritas Marine for their trust. He said that SUMEC has long been adhering to the concept of "customer first", deeply engaged in shipbuilding and shipping business, continuously optimizing the Crown 63 series green ship type, creating high-quality products with stringent standards and requirements, and enhancing core competitiveness, which has won wide acclaim in the medium-sized bulk carrier industry at home and abroad. As a world-class logistics and transportation company, U-Ming Marine has extremely high requirements for ship quality. It is hoped that both parties will take this naming as a new starting point, continue to leverage their respective strengths and work together towards mutual progress and win-win cooperation.

Alex Gregg-Smith highly recognized the SUMEC Marine’s continuous innovation and improvement of the Crown 63 3.0 version of bulk carrier.

Xu Xudong said that the two Crown 63 3.0 version bulk carriers named this time inherited U-Ming Marine's consistent environmental protection concept and were equipped with the fleet safety management system developed by U-Ming Marine. Through ship-shore interaction, the efficiency and safety of ship operations were further improved. They are the "standout performers" among the EEDI PHASE III ship types.

Ms. Zhang Xiaohong and Ms. Shi Yihua named the two new ships "Yu Yong" and "Yu Xu" respectively.

Previously, SUMEC Marine and U-Ming Marine reached a cooperation agreement on the construction of four Crown 63 3.0 version bulk carriers. The successful naming of the two ships "Yu Yong" and "Yu Xu" indicates that the advanced design concept and excellent construction quality of the ship type have been fully recognized by U-Ming Marine, and is another milestone for SUMEC Marine to build the Crown 63 series ULTRAMAX ship type. So far, 117 Crown 63 series ships have been delivered, currently holding 76 orders.
